Edullinen kirpparilöytö viime keväältä. Pienen kavennuksen jälkeen se istuu kuin hansikas.

I bought this in a flea market, narrowed it a little bit and now it fits like a glove.

Nämä kaksi toin tuliaisina Lontoosta. Vihreä on 1950- ja punainen 1940-luvulta.

These two I brought from London. The green dress is from 1950's and the red one from 1940's.

...joulukuusi ja piparit

...Christmas tree and some gingerbread

Vielä hetki sitten taivaalta satoi jotakin, jota olisi ehkä parhaalla tahdolla voinut kutsua lumeksi. Nyt se alkaa jo enemmän näyttää vedeltä. Mutta jos ikkunan takana on vielä syksy, niin onneksi sisällä on jo joulu. Kuusi tuotiin kotiin sunnuntaina ja eilen meillä vieraili pieni kuusenkoristelija ja piparileipurin apulainen. Miehen kanssa tosin fiksattiin illalla kuusen koristusta hieman, sillä kaikki pallot sijoittuivat koristelijan pienestä koosta johtuen kuusen alaoksille. Tämä taas aiheutti kissalle sietämätöntä kiusausta käydä tiputtamassa pallot lattialle.

A while ago I could have said that it's snowing outside, but now it looks more like it's raining. Though it seems that it's still autumn outside I'm glad to say that it's already Christmas inside our house. We brought the Christmas tree in on Sunday  and yesterday my godson and his mother were here helping us to decarate the tree and bake some gingerbread. Due to the decorator's small size and young age the Christmas baubles were all placed on the lower branches of the tree. Later in the evening we had to do some Christmas tree redecorating because the cat could not resist dropping the baubles and playing with them. 

Suunnittelua - Planning

Vietämme tänä vuonna ensimmäistä kertaa joulua omassa kodissa. Aina ennen olemme olleet aattoiltana joko minun tai miehen vanhempien luona. On ollut mukava miettiä yhdessä tarjoilua ja illan kulkua. Mun vastuulla on tietenkin koristukset ja muu joulufiilistely. Tässä muutamia ideoita joulupöydän koristamiseen.

This is the first year we'll celebrate christmas at our own home. The past ten years we have spent the christmas eve either in my parents' or my husband's parents' house. It's real fun planning the evening and menu together. Table settings and other christmas decoration is really my cup of tea, so here's some inspiration pics for you.

 

Loppukiri ennen joulua - The final spurt before Christmas

 

Kiirettä pitää, enkä ehdi kaivaa omaa kameraa esille päivänvalon aikaan. Tässä siis hieman joulufiilistelyä ideakuvakansiostani. Palasin edellisyönä Lontoosta, jossa olin työkuvioita setvimässä. Nyt onkin sitten kiire saada kaikki koulutyöt valmiiksi ensi keskiviikkoon mennessä. Viikonloppuun osuu vielä kahdet kuoroharjoitukset ja tiistaina on joulukonsertti. Sen jälkeen kiire helpottaa. Sitten loppuu nimittäin niin koulu kuin nykyinen työkin.

It seems that this week I'm too busy to take some photos of my own during the short hours of daylight. So here is some Christmas feeling from my inspiration photos folder. I came back from London on Wednesday night and now I'm very busy trying to do all my school assignments on time. During the weekend I have also two choir practices to go to. Well, after next week it all gets easier because my school and current work will both be over.
